RHAPSODY CHATS WITH SLIPKNOT'S # 3

When Rhapsody caught up with Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn (#3) at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, things were looking up for the infamous metal collective. After nearly three years away, the nine masked members -- Sid Wilson (turnables), Joey Jordison (drums), Paul Gray (bass), Fehn (percussion), Jim Root (guitars), Craig "133" Jones (samples/media), Shawn "Clown" Crahan (percussion), Mick Thomson (guitars) and Corey Taylor (vocals) -- were back out on the touring circuit with two singles dominating the airwaves and a new album in the pipeline. "You always wonder if you're going to be able to keep up, but we're a touring band," explains Fehn. "When we're on the road is when we're the best."

THE MOMENT YOU MAGGOTS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR

Slipknot released its fourth album, All Hope is Gone, on Roadrunner Records today, August 26, 2008. The album was recorded in Slipknot's home state and is co-produced by the band and Dave Fortman.

"The nine" spent their summer laying waste to arenas in North America as they headlined the first annual Rock Star Energy Mayhem Festival. As Slipknot's first tour in three years, maggots all around the globe tore shit up while getting the first taste, with songs from the album such as the single "Psychosocial" and the title track, All Hope Is Gone.

The album promises to blend elements of 2004's Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and 2001's Iowa, while adding a perspective, freshness and depth that only three years apart can bring. The first single "Psychosocial" will be delivered to radio on June 30 and will be available digitally on July 1.

A STATEMENT FROM SLIPKNOT

To Our Fans:

It is with huge regret and disappointment that we have been forced to cancel our imminent European festival appearances at Leeds, Reading, 2 Days a Week, Area 4, as well as exclusive performances for MTV Europe and Virgin TV.  The other night, Joey Jordison broke his ankle and doctors have advised Joey to stay off his leg for 4-6 weeks to prevent further injury or permanent and more serious damage.

We know you will be hugely disappointed and so are we.  Canceling
shows is never an easy decision and we apologize to all our fans, friends and family for not being there to throw down with you.  We will be back in Europe this November and can't wait to see you all then.

Stay (sic),
Slipknot
